Bloomington, Ind. — Cook Medical is now offering Magneto technology on the Quanta System 100W and 150W High Power Ho:YAG Laser Systems. Magneto technology allows physicians to perform a wider array of endourological procedures than ever before with one laser system. This all-in-one laser with innovative technology is now being brought to you by Cook as Cyber Ho in six countries in Europe and as Litho in the United States.
Magneto technology combines the trusted power of holmium lasers with the fine dusting capabilities of thulium fiber lasers (TFL) in the same laser system. When Magneto technology is implemented, it enables surgeons to extend the pulse width to as long as 2000 µs, thus reducing peak power to as low as 500W. This reduces retropulsion and allows for fine dusting in stone management procedures that could previously only be achieved with TFL. Procedures such as holmium laser enucleation of prostate (HoLEP) will also benefit from Magneto technology.

Laser systems with the Magneto technology come standard with Quanta’s other core technologies – Virtual Basket, Vapor Tunnel and MasterPULSE. All Quanta laser fibers are compatible with the Litho Magneto 100W and 150W laser systems without the need to purchase additional dedicated fibers.
