San Diego, Cal.— At the American Urological Association’s (AUA) 2nd Annual National Residents Bowl, the country’s best and brightest residents competed in a three day battle of urology industry knowledge. Each competitor showed impressive knowledge about the history of urology, its subspecialties and new urology research findings, but it was the Southeastern section team who came out on top. Cook Medical has been a sponsor of the event for the past two years. Through events like these, the AUA and Cook Medical continue to emphasize the importance of physician training and education.
The National Residents Bowl takes place during the AUA’s Annual Meeting and tests residents’ knowledge in different urological subspecialties while fostering a spirit of competition. A total of eight teams, formed from each of AUA’s geographic regions, answered questions created by top urologists on the history of urology and important new research in the field.
“We are extremely proud to partner with such a distinguished organization that has been developing innovative, evidence-based education for urologists year after year,” said Jean-Marc Creissel, global leader of Cook Medical’s Urology division. “These residents will soon become leaders in the urological community, and the importance of recognizing these up-and-coming physicians can’t be underestimated.”
