Bloomington, Ind. – Cook Medical’s Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (OHNS) clinical division announces the introduction of the Advance Salivary Duct Balloon Catheter Set. This product is designed to dilate strictures in the submandibular and parotid salivary ducts.
In the company’s long history of making catheters for a variety of therapeutic areas, the Advance Salivary Duct Balloon Catheter is their first high-pressure balloon dedicated to salivary duct intervention and is part of our dedicated sialendoscopy product range.
The set contains a hydrophilic-coated balloon catheter with a wire guide. The controlled inflation of the balloon dilates strictures in the affected salivary ducts.
“Stenosis of the salivary ducts can significantly impact a person’s quality of life. There is a clear unmet clinical need for more effective minimally invasive treatment options for salivary duct strictures,” explained Thomas Cherry, global leader of Cook Medical’s OHNS clinical division. “We are proud to provide clinicians with the Advance Salivary Duct Balloon Catheter Set to help treat patients in the area of sialendoscopy.”
Cook Medical’s OHNS division is committed to developing minimally invasive treatment options, like the Advance Salivary Duct Balloon Catheter Set, which benefit both clinicians and patients.
