Bloomington, Ind. — Cook Medical won the 2023 Loyal Partner Supplier Award from Capstone Health Alliance for outstanding work from Cook’s MedSurg division. Cook is proud to earn this award along with a renewed contract for urology devices. We believe two-way understanding is vital for advancing patient care, and this award is a recognition of the way we have been collaborating with hospital systems to understand what physicians need and how we can provide hospitals with products in a streamlined and reliable way.
Capstone Health Alliance is one of the nation’s largest regional group purchasing organizations (GPOs). As part of the Premier GPO, Capstone forms strategic partnerships with industry-leading suppliers to deliver opportunities for savings and value for its members. The members of Capstone include 245 hospitals representing more than 120 health systems in 24 states.
The award is largely based on Cook’s efforts from our MedSurg division. Cook’s recent contracts with Capstone included a variety of MedSurg products, and Capstone praised Cook for the excellent relationships and customer service from MedSurg team members. In addition to the award, Capstone is renewing a contract with Cook for urology products. The contract will be renewed in January 2024 and go into effect on February 1, 2024. Capstone already contracts with Cook for urology devices, vascular filters and introducers.
“We’ve had a collaborative relationship with Capstone for several years. In fact, in 2017, Cook won the Capstone Innovative Partner award for our contracts with them for vascular and urology devices. It’s amazing to see how we’ve both grown since then and adapted to shifting industry needs. As we renew our contract with Capstone for urology devices and continue providing endoscopy devices, we will continue to drive value for their membership,” said Ross Harvey, Cook’s vice president of global supply chain.
Forming contracts is one way Cook is improving customer experience, increasing product accessibility and streamlining supply chain efficiency. Contracts, like the ones with Capstone, offer clinical and financial value for hospital systems. In September, Cook won the 2023 Vizient Supply Assurance Supplier of the Year Award. Earlier this year, Cook also won a third contract with the US Department of Veterans Affairs for implantable devices.
