Bloomington, Ind. — Cook Medical is proud to achieve a transparency partner badge from the Healthcare Industry Resiliency Collaborative (HIRC).
HIRC is a nonprofit healthcare supply chain trade association. Its mission is to support supply chain best practices for better patient care, business continuity and supply resilience. The national organization gives awards each year to companies that demonstrate excellence in their supply chain practices.
This year, HIRC awarded Cook a transparency partner badge for choosing to give visibility, mapping of final assembly, and beyond for all locations that provide critical and essential products and participating in the HIRC Business Continuity Maturity (BCM) assessment. In September 2022, Cook also added a Supplier Risk Dashboard to our Customer Portal. This helpful feature shows customers what locations around the world their products are manufactured and what risk exists to the components that go into making those products. Using that information, customers can see what countries the materials are coming from to maintain a steady supply for their patients.
“Awards from HIRC are valuable because they are chosen by healthcare organizations and physicians,” said Ross Harvey, vice president of global supply chain at Cook. “We are honored to receive the transparency badge. Over the last few years, the pandemic drastically changed supply chains for every industry. There’s a lot we can’t control in the world, but we can control how we communicate with our customers and how transparent we are with them. The Customer Portal makes the ordering experience more convenient and efficient for our customers.”
The portal’s transparency has been a success with customers. In 2022, Cook Medical saw a 47% growth in new users to our Customer Portal. Cook is committed to continued transparency and excellent communication, so we are working on adding more features, such as more options for scheduling consultations with Cook representatives and more options for product tracking in the Asia-Pacific region.
If you are a Cook customer, you can find instructional demos, supplier diversity information and aggregated sourcing data on the Customer Portal at mycook.cookmedical.com. A customer number will be necessary for access.
