Bloomington, Ind. – Cook Medical has been awarded an interventional urology contract with Vizient, Inc., the largest healthcare performance improvement company in the United States. This contract gives Vizient member hospitals access to enhanced savings on our full line of urology products to meet physician preference and advance patient care.
Cook offers products that support diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in adult and pediatric urology, with an emphasis on stone management and BPH. Our comprehensive interventional urology offering includes catheters, percutaneous access and drainage devices, balloons, dilation and access devices, stone extractors, wire guides, ureteral stents, holmium and thulium laser systems, laser fibers, and more. Partnering with many of the world’s leading urologists, Cook focuses its expertise on delivering solutions that reduce procedural times, improve outcomes, and, consequently, influence overall healthcare costs.
“We’ve been a supplier with Vizient for a long time, and we’re excited to have this contract in place. When Vizient members perform any kind of urological procedure, they now have a wider range of alternative solutions at contracted pricing. They have more choices available to find the best fit for the patient’s unique situation,” said Rob Faulkner, global director of Cook’s Urology specialty.
The contract went into effect June 1, 2020.
