Earth Day 2018
Making decisions that are good for the planet has been part of Cook’s culture for decades. We’ve done a lot to reduce our footprint on the environment, and we’d like to do more. View the Going Green infographic to learn more about our sustainability efforts.
A redesign of the corrugated cardboard boxes that we use to ship our products is one example of how we’re working to make a difference. Our shipping boxes play a bigger role in the healthcare supply chain than you might realize. One of our packaging engineers realized that improving our shipping boxes could be a source of savings. He resized two of our commonly used boxes. Small changes to the dimensions of the boxes created a lower shipping weight that, in turn, saved shipping costs. Lighter boxes also create less waste. The next time you open a box from Cook Medical, know that the box is just another example of how we’re doing what we can to lower healthcare costs. By recycling the box, you can do your part to help us reduce our footprint on the environment.

We’re seeking ways to prevent pollution, to reduce waste, and to promote the sustainable use of natural resources. And we’re looking at it from a variety of angles—from the efficiency of our facilities to the design of our packaging and the distribution channels we use to get our products to a patient’s bedside.
