At a recent meeting of the New England section of the American Urological Association (AUA), one of our Urology managers gratefully accepted an award on Cook’s behalf that recognized our recent efforts in physician education.
George Hay is a regional manager for Cook Medical’s Urology division. For the past couple of years, his region has made a priority out of ensuring that hospitals in the area, many of which are teaching hospitals or academic medical centers, have access to Cook’s physician education program.
Cook’s Vista® Education and Training programs are designed to give physicians of any experience level a robust and interactive product education. Each course features hands-on training so that physicians can practice using products in a variety of clinical settings.
“Before we introduced our programs to these hospitals, there was not a good option available for residents and practicing physicians to get robust product training,” said George. “These programs are really filling a need for both the residents and attending physicians at these teaching centers.”
Because of the work that George’s region did to coordinate these Vista programs, more than 80 percent of the academic medical centers in the northeast region have completed hands-on training with Cook products.
“Our sessions continue to evolve because we always want to stay relevant to needs of the physicians,” said Bobby Quinnell, North American Sales Manager for Cook Medical’s Urology division. “Residents especially have been requesting additional products be included in the program, and we’re very open to accommodating those needs.”
